Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril or Kozure Ōkami: Oya no kokoro ko no kokoro is the fourth film in the Japanese Lone Wolf and Cub series.

This was the first film in the series that was not directed by Kenji Misumi, instead Buichi Saito stepped up to direct – Tomisaburo Wakayama, however, remains in the lead role.

Despite the change of director, the film is very much business as usual and Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril with a carefully weighted balance of plot and action.

This film sees Itto Ogami take on a new job and he find himself working for a group of widows – the widows employ Itto Ogami to assassinate their husband’s murderer (a female assassin).

Tension is added in this film when Daigoro gets seperated from his father for the first time and becomes lost; there is an unforgettable scene where Daigoro runs into a swordsman who has harboured a long grudge against Itto Ogami.
